WHEN SAVIOR TURNED DEVIL

WHEN SAVIOR TURNED DEVIL The Kunan-Poshpura villages came into the news and in February 1991 when some soldiers were reportedly killed in a militant ambush. The village before that had never had a problem with the military but single baseless suspect of few military personals put an indelible blot on the glorious pages of the history of Indian Armed forces for the posterity to condemn.  Everything changed in the intervening night of February 23- 24, 1991. An unspecified number of soldiers of the 4th Rajputana Rifles mustered the entire village in the name of conducting a “search operation”. All the men were asked to come out of their homes, and were taken away to another location for interrogation. Once the men were taken away, soldiers went inside every house, ruthlessly raped and abused women through the night. The victims of this mass rape ranged in age from 13 to 80 years. Their numbers remained a matter of conjecture as only 53 or more married women filed FIRs or police ...

A Law Student Letter to the world.

A Law Student Letter to the world. Dear All More than a letter this is an open challenge to all those who believe that pursuing law is the last carrier option and perhaps it becomes a carrier option more of accident and optionlessness  rather than passion and dream. At times, I get astonished seeing my neighbors’ and several other acquaintances reacting disgustingly over this choice.  Let me clarify at the very beginning, I choose law because of my passion, because it was my dream and not because of some f***ing rejection from all other lucrative option (of course in your view) such as engineering, medical and any other such lucrative seeming option to you. I am sure that I am not alone who joined a law school as the outcome of his passion for this great career, there are  thousands like me studying, to be more precise chasing their dreams passionately  in some or other law schools around the country. Now talking on behalf of all such dream chasers, we c...

To choose between what is easy? and what is right?

Change is always sought, though it is quite difficult to change something...if the pages of history are turned most probably history shall prove to have witnessed that any change  that society has ever witnessed was brought by those who chose to do something different and to be more precise something right though difficult. It is perhaps the only thing which makes a big difference be it in individual’s life, thought process or even society as a whole. In normal course people tend to choose what is easy rather than what is right. Malala yousafzai did not became source of inspiration for millions of Pakistani rather for millions other because she was shot by militants rather because she braved it and chose right path to enlighten the world around to fight those demons. I feel the winds of change when i hear the news of a girl rejecting a boy who asks for dowry, a low rank officer complaining against senior officer,Durga sakti coming against government,a girl beating a moleste...

The Need Of the Hour-Change of mindset

It seems that after the shocking and shameful incidence of Dec.16 2012,the rape cases in india has seen a upward trend. It's not just rape there are lot of other things also such as eve teasing, stalking, harassment both mental as well as sexual. So basically the list of crime against women is endless.Everytime i go through such cases i wonder, being a human the first question which comes in my mind is what is my role?Am i just supposed to read the stuff,be sad and then try to forget the issue by busying myself with  routine works. Now to be much narrower and more specific, once again being an Indian again i die a little everyday with the feeling of helplessness. So,i decided to write something so that at least i can reach to the people around and contribute my bit.Everyday newspaper is filled with such cases, why we are unable to stop it?Restricting my examples from today's The Indian Express. I was just going through the first pages and was really taken aback to read these two cases...
